As you can see, I'm still quite self-conscious about my url title - gailhappygirl.blogspot. Seems very in your face. Like I AM THE HAPPY ONE. THIS IS ME - I AM HAPPY.

Maybe I'm just paranoid. Maybe I've lived in england far too long that I've taken on the English way of downplaying oneself to the extent that a bit of exuberance and expression (yes, even of happiness) seem over the top and AMERICAN. (Gosh - what have I become?! lol)

But the point is, I think being happy is a state of mind (to a certain extent at least). I mean, of course there are extenuating factors that influences ones happiness level (like new shoes and good food and having a jolly time with friends). But its also a decision to be happy. And grateful. And thankful. For everything. For sins forgiven and life redeemed. So yeah, on the whole I'm trying to BE happy all the time (except when I'm not - then I'll need some help, divine or otherwise, to Be).

So yeah feel free to comment, say hi, whatever. I'll do my best to blog as much as I can (probably would have more free time, as I'm starting my new rotation in Pscyhiatry next week).
